Caroline's "Ozymandias" Prewriting

  1. I like how you mention how the king's "legacy" isn't remembered. It could tie into how Shelley feels about royalty and I wonder if he was comparing Ozymandias specifically to whomever was in power at the time, and their reign.

  2. Your comparisons between the statue of Ozymandias in the poem and the statue of Constantine are really cool- it makes an interesting point about those formerly in power who we remember and what we remember about them, and why.

  3. It was cool that you brought up the statue of Constantine. It could lead into a discussion of how we as people use objects that are inherently lifeless to represent things that are of importance to us. And, like you pointed out, the actual body of Ramses is now lifeless. There's some irony there.
